Uploading my Resume

Good morning. I have Vista Ultimate with Word 2007. I recently found myself unemployed so I created a resume on Word. I've joined several job finder sites online and the majority of them have an option that allows for downloading a resume. Some of these sites have responded to me with notice that I have a virus in my Word document. I have no idea how I could have gotten a virus in a simple resume but it has me disturbed. How many of these job finder sites have scrapped my resume due to this virus (I ask myself)? How do I go about removing the virus? I have Windows Live OneCare and have it set to do a virus scan once a week but it hasn't found anything. Do I uninstall Word 2007 then reinstall it?

I have Windows Live OneCare which has a virus scan. Are you saying that it doesn't work as well as the others? Wouldn't having two different virus scan programs create different problems or conflicts?

I use both NOD32 and Onecare perpetual beta. The Onecare is on the desktop , while NOD32 in on the notebooks. There have been many times I have run the online scanner of NOD32 and it has caught and removed stuff that Onecare has misssed.
The NOD32 online scanner requires no downloads so it doesn't interfere with your installed antivirus. I run it about once a month to compliment the Onecare. Free ESET Online Antivirus Scanner

Usually you don't want to have more than one major antivirus program installed and actively monitoring your system as it may cause conflicts. But, you can have one major AV like Onecare, ESET NOD32, Avast, AVG and one or a couple Antispyware programs like Spybot SD, Malwarebytes,etc. installed usually with no problems.

Spybot SD has Real Time Protection available for free or you can use it without the "tea timer" actively monitoring and just use it to periodcally run scans. Malwarebytes does not unless you buy the paid version, but you can use the free version just to run a scan of your system. And you can use free online scanners like Rive0108 says.

A lot of people have an AV installed such as Avast or ESET NOD32 and windows defender actively monitoring as well as something like Spybot SD monitoring without problems. It's up to you but just one AV will usually not be able to find "everything" as some are better at catching things than others are.

Exactly. I have COMODO as a firewall, (though it never finds anything...) and AdAware always finds small stuff, and a few big ones. Oh I take that back, COMODO actually stopped a bad virus the other day. Hm. But yeah, usually the built in ones suck. Mine never finds anything.
