Update help

Hello, I have a Tosha Satellite laptop with Vista Home Premium, 32-bit. I cannot update either Windows Defender or Windows Update. I get an Error Code 80072efd. I tried to manual update with no success. I have only Windows Firewall (I think) and I have uninstalled my Virus Checker. Can someone help me?

Hi Alan

Try this

1. Click the Start Button, click All programs, and click Accessories.
2. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Type netsh winhttp reset proxy at the command prompt, and press Enter.
4. Try the update again.

You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates

OK Sweet, I tried you answer. I get finally get to this:
The syntax of this command is:
NET
(many columns) Account - Computer - ETC.
And no help from AOL to reset the Proxy settings.

What hell are you doing ?Please read thoroughly posts!

Commands net and netsh are completely different!You have to use netsh command (you have already in post 2).If resetting proxy does not solve problem you have to verify links which I gave you in post 3.
