It is not easy as you want. This error have many differents options. In this powerful stock
Windows Update Error 80080005 on Vista
you can find all reported options
shortly in my opinion the are at least three different options:
1.Missing
winhttp.dll or any other files from C:\Windows\System32 folder
To recognize you have to run SFC command and read SFC report
2.Missing
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version key or folder related to this key:details

easy to recognize -if you have this option of error you cannot run SFC command
3.unable to run Windows Update sevice :when you attempt manually run Windows Update service some error is returned ->example

Try below:
run
cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as administrator)
and type
sfc /scannow
if it returns error "Windows Resource Protection could not start..." that means you have option 2
go to Start>>services.msc, find Windows Update service and try to run it manually,
if it return any error then you have option 3
Independly what happend:
1)Download RegBak
Acelogix Software - Freeware ,run it and create backup of registry files, find in created backup SOFTWARE,SYSTEM and COMPONENTS files.
