Unwanted Keyboard Shortcuts

So, I've had this problem before. I have no idea what causes it though.
If I press the 1 key, it takes my cursor up to the browser and enters a "?" so I can search for something
The a key takes my browser forward a page. If I don't have a page to go forward to, it does nothing.
The z key takes my browser back a page. And if there's nothing to go back to, it does nothing.
Also, the q key opens up windows mail.
How do I stop this?

Google Chrome, but it does the same on Internet Explorer

Do you have a laptop where some of the alphanumeric keys have additional functions to the standard?

Nah, it's just a desktop.
However, the problem is gone now, and I didn't do ANYTHING towards fixing it...
But any help on how I can get it to go away for future reference would be amazing! Thanks!

I'm pleased that your problem has, for now, resolved itself. It's still a mystery as to why it happened in the first place though. Until we are able to establish what caused this, we can't help on preventing it. Just one thought. Are you using a wireless keyboard and, if so, is there any possibility of something causing interference?

No wireless keyboard, so there's no interference!

Does this just happen on this particular keyboard, or does it also happen on others as well?
