unknown status in vista 32 no dependency svc or group

i have vista 32 home premium with gateway tower. all's been fine except....

my internet connection status is unknown and it says the dependency service or group failed to start. to make it even better, i don't have the vista 32 full version program disk nor a recovery point.

any suggestions on what to do to correct these dilemmas?

i have a lap top but do not know how to remote assist my desktop to download vista 32 via my laptop connection

Hopefully easy to fix
Go to search by start button
Type cmd, when it pops up right click and then run as adminstrator
In cmd type sfc /scannow. Hopefully this is all you need.
