How To Uninstall Windows Media Center

For several reasons I need get rid of Media center on my Vista64 system. But it doesn't show up as any program to be installed/uninstalled, or in the start menu. I have disabled all the media center services which I can identify in computer management/services, but in spite of disabling the service it insists on popping up, and taking total control of the screen, with no escape function, no mouse pointer, etc, when some - not all - DVDs are inserted.
It may be a Vista64 problem, as it works OK on 2 Vista32 Laptops
Help me uninstall it, please!

Not in any supported fashion. If you wanted a system without Windows Media
Player, the Windows Vista N systems are designed for you.

If you are not on an N system, the Set Program Access and Defaults tool lets
you hide the access points to Windows Media Player.

Many thanks - I had missed that option while changing all the file associations, services, shortcuts etc. I am running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
How stupid of microsoft to develop programs not compatible with Vista64 and than integrate them into a release of Vista64.
And at least one other of the ms programs which came with my computer will not install - "not compatible with this version of windows"

Cheers and thanks again:
Warren
