Unhideable Menu Bar

Please Help!
I have been having a problem with windows explorer.

I was just customizing my layout of the explorer window and accidentally clicked on the menu bar option. I now have the classic menu bar and i just cant get rid of it at all.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dell Inspiron 546, vista home premium 64bit, Admin account.

(have started a new thread because i have had little success with help other threads)

i am also new to forums and am sorry if starting a new thread was the wrong thing to do.

Thanks for the quick reply, and for your help.

Sadly though it dosnt see to be that simple.

I have tried all the methods on the page to no effect.

I even followed this forums guide to resetting the menu bar view but this didn't work either.

So you deleted the registry entries for AlwaysShowClassicMenu in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and then restarted?

This is strange... I'll have to get back to you.

I didn't have the always show classic menu entrys, thats what made me post.

Do you think it could be a virus?

Should i run a full scan overnight?

I don't think so. Wait awhile and someone else may have another suggestion.

Macavity - is this different from your suggestion?

1. Close and exit from all Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer windows.
2. Run Registry Editor (regedit).
3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser
4. Under the ShellBrowser registry hive, locate and delete the ITBar7Layout registry value data.
5. Exit from Registry Editor.

internet explorer to sort out explorer???? but i worked any way
