UAC issue

Hi all,

I have a program "Starry Nite Pro Plus 6" that I have been using for about 6 months now. The issue I have is that each time I try to run the program the UAC pops up with "An unidentified program wants access to your computer". How can I make this stop? I run the program as an administrator. It's the only app that I have which displays this behavior. Running on Vista 32 bit.

thanks

The app is attempting to do something which is potentially dangerous from a security perspective, most likely reading or writing from areas of the file system or the registry where it shouldn't be going.

The real solution can only come from the developers of the app - a fix which would result in the app no longer attempting to interfere with sensitive areas of the system. Otherwise, you could configure the UAC to automatically permit such attempts (medium-bad idea) or even disable UAC completely (Very Bad idea).

Hey...... thanks for answering. This is a fully trusted app which I have been using, in one incarnation or another since the days of Win98. Is there some way that I can inform the UAC that this app is ok so it doesn't bother with these notifications, not a big deal just annoying. You would think that some provision would be made that when the op/administrator repeatedly informs the UAC that the app is ok it would some how get the hint. The app runs with no problem.
