I use Vista's Sidebar app because I like the CPU/RAM gauge, calendar, sticky notes and app launcher. I noticed though, in my Task Manager that there are two instances of SIDEBAR.EXE running.
Why do I have two instances of it? Which one is the one I want to keep and which do I want to get rid of? I'd like to keep the Sidebar, but not if it's going to take up RAM like this.

OmegaWolf747,
Look under the
User Name column to see if it is for another username's account on the computer. If they both have your username listed, then pick both and click
End Process . You should only have one of these listed per active (logoned) user account. Restart Windows Sidebar, or logoff and logon again.
You might also check in the startup programs list to make sure it did not get listed twice somehow.
