Every time an update comes out for FF 3.6, even though I have Firefox unchecked in the Update settings, it will ask me to update. Not just on startup, but just any old time. It's gettin' old fast!!!

Is there a way to kill off this annoying crap?

Hi Miles

Hope I can help you, since you have helped so many.

How to Disable Firefox Updates | eHow.com

Unfortunately, this may be what you have done already.

As an additional thought, if you have already followed this procedure you may want to untick the other update choices, too.

Hey, there.

Don't like them? Install another browser. Chrome is a great alternative to Foxy. But I just love Firefox, so I use it on all my computers, always.

Yeah, I want to use Firefox. I don't want it to use me.

3.6 was working too well. I knew there had to be a catch. I hate distractions. So now it's going to ask me to update AddOns, update the browser, and if I want to buy a time share every 5 minutes! Pretty soon Bucky Beaver will pop up asking me if I want to brush with Ipana.
Sheesh!!

Thanks for the replies. Maybe the hope is enough people will complain about the distraction to provoke them to put a stop to it. You run a popup blocker to avoid popups after all. :)
