Hey guys, just incase anyone ever encounters a problem when installing WoW or updating, I think you should know that temporarily disabling UAC could possibly be a solution as this was mine. The updater/installer didn't have permission and was failing. Although it had to be a stupid error code which was like cant open file which indicated nothing about no write permission. To me anyway.

WoW re-installed and patched and kicking butt woo woo! :geek:

Hope this helps someone some day :)

You can just right-click and run the updater as "RunAsAdmin" without disabling UAC :sarc:

Actuly no, you cant :)

When installing you run as admin and still get the error. When updating the game updates itself, you dont have a choice.

Well I didnt anyway.

I just set both wow and the updater to run as admin by the Compatibility tab under properties, thats how I got it to update and play properly...unless they changed something very recently

I set the game to run as admin. I also tried it on the Administrator account and still didnt work. The only way I could do it was disabling UAC :(
