I just have installed on my computer TightVNC 1.3.9 on my Vista64 Ultimate. Install went fine but when im trying to connect to my computer from a remote one i receive the following message:

"This server does not have a valid password enabled.Until password is set, incoming connections cannot be accepted"

even if i set and re-set the password on the server the situation doesn't change and i receive the same message.

Any clues about what can i do?

Thank you

Here's an alternative solution that worked for me: seeing as there's a conflict with Vista/Win7 on port 5900, config VNC to use another port, eg 59xx. Don't forget to open this port in your firewall.

Hey presto, it works! At least it does on Win 7 beta.
