thumbnial viewing problem ...my bad

Was using the program explorer to try to cleanup what gets loaded and probably went too far too fast. Didn't realize on of the default startup programs enabled thumbnail viewing. Got tired of the popup messages that there were disabled programs and chose to delete blocked programs. Anybody know which one that is and how I get it to load up again? It is faster though:>)

unfortunately, didn't set a restore point. Just need to know the exact file or service to add back to startup list.

Correct - perhaps you should explain more fully what exactly you were doing - what tool(s) you were using and what you disabled / etc.

Thanks all. About all I think I did was use the program explorer to streamline startup programs. There was one program I killed that I remember being described as windows media related. Didn't use any non OS tools at all. Despite the assertion above, some default startup program must indeed handle thumbs/JPEg previews.

But I know I could be wrong. If you know what program/service/dll does allow JPG previews, even if not usually seen in startup, please let me know. I could have had an unusual setup.

this program explorer - can you describe it and / or tell us how you (we) can open it?

And it sounds like you have merely disabled the preview function in Windows Explorer....
