Ive just got a new laptop, ive installed all the sims games on it but it keeps crashing and when I press ctrl, alt, delete it says its not responding. This doesnt make sense to me because its a new laptop with better everything than my last laptop and it worked fine on there. Ive downloaded the patch and that made no difference. Im sure my driver is up to date because its a new laptop here are my specs:

its a dell inspiron 1525
windows vista home premium 32bit
My graphics driver is version 7.14.10.1409

I have no idea about stuff like this so if anyone could help id appreciate it

I think the problem might be the driver so I went to the intel website to find the updated version.
mine at the moment is:
Mobile intel 965 express chipset family
version 7.14.10.1409

I went to the intel website found that the new version is
7.15.10.1554

I downloaded it and tryed to install it but it said its not compatible which doesnt make sense because its the new one for the mobile intel 965 express chipset family. It doesnt make sense.

I'm having a similar problem but I don't think its the video card because the game worked once! I installed it this afternoon and played for about an hour, it worked fine.

Now, I get "unexpected error." I have tried:

Downloading the latest patch

Downloading DirectX 9

Changing compatibility to Windows XP and Windows 98/ME

Restarting the computer, as well as doing a full shutdown and restarting a few hours later

Removing the CD and reinserting it.... it brings up the install window again instead of playing the game

It worked once.... The only things I've done to my computer since then are the things listed above. Between the time when it worked and the time when it didnt work, I had changed NOTHING. I dont have a fancy graphics card, just what came with the computer... BUT IT WORKED THIS AFTERNOON. Not only did it start, but it looked good. Now it won't even start. I've been searching all over the net and I kind of think there's no good answer.... but is there anything else I could try???
