TCP IP error and Vonage Vportal

Help, please -- I am getting this TCP setting error (TCP setting not compatible with your router") but the only "router" I have is my Vonage Vportal (VDV-21). When I apply the auto-tuning command (found the source elsewhere here) , it degrades my HSI upload/download speed something dreadful - my Blast 20/4 is more like sub-snail.

Is there some setting to change in my Vonage adapter as - when I am directly connected to the internet - I don't get that error. Vonage has rolled back my firmware but still the problem persists.

Thanks. FWIW, some settings change has also made me pingable -- never was up until a couple of days ago.

If possible provide some configuration information for your PC & the Vportal. Thiis will enable us to evaluate you problem. OK?

My configuration is simply: Vportal - Motorola sb 6120 cable modem - HP Pavillion desktop.

You need to access the Vportal set-up & type ipconfig into a DOS prompt cmd.
