Just tried running Microsoft's SFC on my SP1 setup and it found lots of incorrect files/info and repaired them. It checks all the protected files and replaces them from its file store if necessary.
Anyone with problems might like to try it -just type sfc /scannow at the command prompt, or sfc /verifyonly if you just want to see what is wrong without repairing them.
Best to make a system restore point first.
