Switching from wireless to wired.

I just got my son a laptop. It's connected via wireless. I want to switch to wired. Is there a process to this? Can I just plug in n cat6 cable and be done with it?

Hello, yeah, that is pretty much it, turn off wireless and just connect the ethernet cable .
