suddenly no sound

hello vista forums, today ichanged my language for non-unicode programs to another language, to make a foreign program work, after i restarted my computer, the sound doesn't work. on the bottom right on my taskbar, i can see that the speaker has 3 lines coming out, so my computer definitely isn't mute.

how do i possibly fix this?

Try system restore to a time before you made the changes.
Go to start menu,all programs,accessories,system tools,system restore.
