please help crcdisk.sys driver problem
Hi,
I am really in need of some help.... I have a HP 530 notebook PC that was running windows vista. A couple days ago after a power outage I have been unable to start my computer. When I attempt to start it in safe mode it ends with the driver/crcdisk.sys and will not go any further. The screen then turns to the blue screen of death for about .5 seconds before continuing the whole startup loop again. I am at such a loss. can someone please help or give suggestions? please let me know if you need any additional info.

Re: stuck in strart up loop

Here's an option but not sure this will work but it may and it's worth a try; have a look at the tutorial at the link below, create the disk and boot from it to see if it'll repair the PC.
Be sure to post back with an update.

Re: stuck in strart up loop

Hello.

Yes, now you know the HDD is ok, I wanted to start checking the hardware. There is an option to recover the machine back to the factory specifications, though it over-writes all date on the PC and takes it back to a state you first took it out of the box, is there a lot of stuff to be lost if that is done?

One thing though, if it is a hardware issue this will not solve the issue.

Re: stuck in strart up loop

Have a look at the instructions below; remember, there's no guarantee this will solve the issue.

HP Recovery Center

Be advised that this will take the machine back to the point when you first took it of the box.
The "HP Recovery Center" will give you the option to send to backup anything you
don't want to lose, so have backup media available to use if you choose this option.

With the machine off press the power button, as soon as you do that start tapping the F11 key.
It may take several attempts to do this, if the first attempt fails, try again.
That should take you to the HP Recovery Center. When there just follow the prompts.
It is pretty much self explanatory. From the time you boot into F11 (not counting
any backups you choose to make) you should be back on a working desktop in about
30 minutes. After it restarts just follow the prompts again to finish the process.

If your first option is system restore select no, which should take you to system recovery.
You want to try system recovery not system restore, unless you have good restore points!

When i press f8 it takes me to a screen that allow me to choose
Windows Vista Home Basic ,
Run a Memory Test,
or press f8 again for the advanced settings of booting in safe mode..

After i chose F8 I tried these three following options.....

Last Known good configuration (advanced)-----restarts into loop again
Disable Driver Signature Enforcement-----restarts into loop again
Disable Driver Software-----takes me to the blue screen of death giving me the following error......

Re: stuck in strart up loop

Do you know anyone that has the exact same version Vista as you do, or maybe you could download it from somewhere, it would have to be the exact same version?

You could use that disk to re-install Vista and use the Windows key on the COA sticker attached to the PC to activate, though you may have to use the method out-lined in the tutorial below.
