I shutdown my laptop only to find numpad and casplock light blinking at bootup-nothing on screen (dead as its not on), dvd cd drive was making lil sounds before coming to halt,
Action taken>> formatted windows (vista home premimum) checked boot priority, disabled dvd boot,

Today morning same thing happened but this time nothing happened when i pressed F-8 or F-11, but after 1 hour or so i saw display and everything went normal,
Now its running smooth as, but i know when i`ll shutdown, it wont boot up or will boot up after 2 hours, darn is it a harddisk problem or what:(
I `am now so worried that i`am planning that i wont shutdown or put my laptop on sleep mode..
Thanks in advance

ok, what you need to do here, which involves the risk of switching it off..
you need to open the laptop, clean the processor, probably its dusty, then remove the c-mos battery off the laptop leave it for like 30 mins and put it back..

Also if the laptop don't start. remove the battery and the charger and keep pressing the power button for like 30 seconds and then put back

cheers

opening a laptop to remove the c-mos battery is not an easy task.. depends on what model of laptop you got.. you better google the model to check where the c-mos battery is located.. most of then are under the keyboard..
