I have just started using WLM, it is having a folder named as `Storage Folders`.
What is purpose of this folder??
How can i remove it?

Actually i upgraded from WM to WLM and now WLM is having this storage folder containing all the mails from WM. As the `Storage Folders` is not linked to any email account, i transfer the mails from it to the appropriate email account folder. But now i am unable to delete this Storage Folder, even i cant delete any item in its heirarchy..

Plz guide me on this..

Storage folders are folders that you can access from other locations (not just your desktop Windows Live Mail client). You can put items in here that you may need to access if you sign into Windows Live Mail somewhere else.

ok..
Then Storage Folder items must have maintained on Hotmail or some other account, ie on web.

But i am not having any hotmail or windows mail account.
Now, how can i delete the directory structure under it??

I don't see any reason to remove it, I use it to move mail into their own folders under that heading, that way it keeps the Inbox clean and uncluttered which is always a bad idea keeping all your mail in one place.

I have message rules set up so that when mail comes in it will go to a particular folder that has been named and set up for it under the Storage Folder.

That way it keeps my Inbox tidy and I know where everything is ;)

Well, that's one way of organizing, but i am more used to look in my current Inbox for the mails, not the Storage Folder. Even more, if you are redirecting mails from inbox of more than one account to a folder in one of your Storage Folder, then you are loosing the feature to maintain multiple accounts separately. Better it would be to use WM then.

Well above is a very subjective discussion, and there could not be one way of organizing that is better than all the others.

Anyway, my main concern is to know, how to remove that Storage Folder, irrespective of what benefit it provides.

Hi Here's the solution if you don't have it yet.

1) Copy e-mails in the Storage folder back into corresponding folders in the e-mail accounts they originate from.

2) Once the storage folder is empty, Toolbar -> View -> Layout
(Dialogue box opens up)

3) Select "Folder Pane", and list appears beneath

4) Un-tick "Show Storage Folders"... and it's gone !!
