stationery- i cannot view what i send

i cannot see the stationery i choose but i am able to choose it and send it in an email. the recipient can see my stationery but i cannot. when i preview it i only see the code and it looks ok,obviously, or the recipeint would not be seeing it right. why can't i view my own stationery in the preview. the box is empty unless i choose -source- then i can see the code but not the picture or color
