Static IP trouble?

ETERNALCONFLICT

New Member
Well, I have a Static IP Address. And there is a website I want to access, but it can never connect. So I contacted the administrator, and he says I am IP banned from the site, and promptly blocks me.

So I figure the best way to get around this was to change my IP Address. I've tried manually changing it, using tons of methods. I've even used the cmd method, but when I type ipconfig/release it gives me an error and says that "This action requires elevation" whatever the hell that means.

I'm 13 and I am in no position to be calling ISP and asking them to change my IP address. So you guys are basically my last hope.

How do I change my Static IP? :(

Oh, and by the way, I don't know what OS I am using. I just put something in so it would let me register. So if that has something to do with it, ignore the information provided with my other miscellaneous posting info. Thanks.

you cannot change your ip, you did answer the question yourself though, if you do want a new IP then you need to call your ISP up and get a new one off them, for the cmd elevation thing, you need to use a command prompt that has authority on your system, what you need to do for that is right click the command prompt and select run as administrator

To find out which OS you're using go to your computer's control panel and double-click on the System icon (Make sure you're using the Classic view)

The information should be in there as long as you are using a Windows OS :D

I followed MrNeeds's instructions, but I am still receiving an error. After I type in ipconfig/release, I type in ipconfig/renew and this error is returned.
