Startup system execution code

Yeah I messed up!

The machine is a Presario running Vista. This morning it chose not to load the OS but instead only displayed the compaq logo and boot options. I was unable to repair the system using system recovery due to an unspecified error involving 0x80070002 code.

Rather than reinstall, I opted to install my old Windows XP in a separate folder and rebooted into that system all hunky dory. Although my brother owns the computer, our older controlling syster had a spaz about the install and sent everyones blood pressure into orbit.

Putting it back just to shut her up was required. Remember Vista never loaded but I did have to make it the startup. But I messed up the code just a bit in my frustration. Well, Vista still doesn't load of course, but now its becoz i messed up the code.

I need the correct execution code to label the Vista system in the code. I used Vista Edition where it formerly said XP Home Edition in the code. Apparently this is wrong.

Anyone know that line of code? Oh, I have to access this file from the command prompt also and I'm not sure of the filename. Is it configsys? The first time i manually changed it from the startup disk prompt which selected the file for me.

My next choice is complete reinstall any way. But I would like some feedback.

Thanks
