Solved Start up program keeps trying to update

My start up program keeps trying to update, but I keep getting error 643. What can I do to correct this?

.NET 1.1 is known to have issues with Vista, as it is an older version.
Try doing the following, and let me know how you do.

1) Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, and remove the .NET framework 1.1 from the machine.

2) Download .NET Framework 1.1 from the Microsoft website and install it.

3) Reboot your machine, then install .NET 1.1 SP1, install it.

4) Install this Manual Update for KB929729, rather than using Windows Update.
