I recently had to reinstall Vista Windows and had to copy some of my program files across from the 'Old Windows' program file to the new Windows program file and they are now not all showing in the Start - All Programs menu or in the Programs and Features 'Uninstall or Change a program' list.
How can I get all my programs into these two locations?
Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I haven't got all the program disks etc to reinstall, so might just have to make shortcuts on my desktop I guess.
yes, have done that with a few but some are quite old and no longer available, have put a new folder in my start menu called Old Program shortcuts and have sent shortcuts from all my older programs to it, so can access them via this, all my frequently used program shortcuts are on my desktop as per normal.
It seems a shame there is no way to install these folders in the start menu without reinstalling every program as there are quite a few, also looks like I will not be able to get them listed in the Uninstall Programs feature either.
Yeah, there are just to many unknown locations that a program may place a file when installed, so it's practically impossible to just copy them over since you do not know if you got them all and all in the correct locations. Sorry, but reinstalling them is the only option.
You might try Google to see if it may be able to find a copy of a program.
