St.Georges Day.

Has it been forgotten?

Now today, I have deemed, although unofficial this day to be a bank holiday, and have decided to take the day off school, despite any nearby exams, to practise or enjoy anything English, flying the flag from my front window, and wearing my England football shirt.

I'm afraid to say though that I am the only one I know doing this, for it is yet to be a national holiday unlike that of St.Patricks Day (Ireland) and St.Andrews Day (Scotland), so many people are still at work or school.

I would so much like it to be a National Holiday, and I have joined many campaigns for it to become one... it's just such a shame that it seems to have faded away...

We should celebrate being english , but everyone seems terrified of upsetting somebody , or some hippy mung bean eating dogooder will complain that were being racist , so we end up feeling embarrased about celebrating our heritage , everyone else does it , so should we :) national holiday wouldnt go amis either ;)

I managed to stick the george flag on me car , lost it on the way to work though , cost me 2 bloody quid too :P

I always fly the English flag on April 23rd - have done for donkey's years.
There's now 4 of us in the road doing the same thing whereas 15 years ago there was one. OK I'll admit the take up is slow but it's in the right direction.
