spontaneous shutdown and blue screen, with non safe mode

Can anybody help? I'm running vista, and my laptop seems to like to spontaneously shutdown during processes, and now won't reboot into any windows screen. There is blue screen if it does, but it is simply lack of windows on this rather than freezing or anything. the only thing i can access is ssystem recovery... anything?
