Sound Driver intermittenly detects HDMI

Sorry for yet another thread on no sound output for HDMI, but I am getting near wits end.

My IDT High Definition CODEC driver seems to just stop recognizing the HDMI audio output on its own. Usually I just reinstall the driver downloaded from the OEM (HP) and it works, but this time it isn't working. Even when the IDT HD Sound menu does show the HDMI, now I can't enable it. I can click to enable, but it doesn't hold.

Anybody have an idea?

PC Specs:

HP Pavilion Dv3t
4G ram
Intel 2.13GHZ dual core
64 bit Vista Home Premium

can you install the from an older driver?

I'll give that a try. Not sure where to find older version. I'll try IDT site or HP site I guess.
