On ocassion a message will disappear from my inbox. This has happen before my eyes. I recall reading on this forum a possible conflict with AVG free?? I have checked my settings with the phishing on and junk set to low. AVG is set to scan both in and outgoing mail.
This has always happen with a message I want to keep in a folder and never with run of the mill stuff.
Any Advice? and where would it go?

could be AVG, or it could be a spam setting in your mail client. Turn off all spam and mail rules and see if the messages still disappear

Hi and thanks for the replies. I did as suggested and will give it a few days. Not sure I understand what you mean by spam setting in my email client? I left the junk mail filter on low at the comcast server as this has never been a problem.

My Computer

The spam settings help you reject unwanted emails. Check the options in your email and you should find them there. If you can't find them let me know the email you are using and I will tell you how to check or alter them.

The mail is probably going missing between the server and you. I suspect your mail client has a setting for spam that may have been turned on.

What mail client?

ken

I use Vista Mail and Comcast as provider. I have disabled all spam/junk mail filters at both. I also have disabled the email feature within AVG free.If the problem is resolved I will enable the filter at comcast 1st, Vista Mail 2nd and AVG last to see which may be the cause.
Thanks Again.

Resolved!! I had the "hide all read messages" set as on. They were all in the inbox but hidden. Glad we did not spend too much time on this. Thanks Again.
