software problems

If this isn't the right board for this topic please direct me to the right one. I was doing stuff on my HP Pavilion laptop a few months ago messing with the sound options in control panel, I knew what I was doing for the most part and somehow at the end of all this my internal microphone was uninstalled so I cant use it anymore. I was all over online looking to see if anyone else has had this issue and it doesn't seem to be too much of a popular issue. If someone knows where I can get the software to reinstall it or give me a clue on how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.:D

Do you see any ! or ? in device manager ?

Did you try to re-install the sound driver ?
