Slow Startup Problem

hey folks,

my startups have recently slowed down. I have disabled stuff from the startup selection, and still had no luck.

I think the problem lies with the network connection. It seems to be taking a while before it connects to my router. not sure why this started happening usually used to be alot quicker.

Any Idea ??

Wireless? Wired? Are you running auto? What speed and duplex? Did you update the NIC drivers?

Is it secured? Or you are being slowed down by hot spot users?

You will find it on start search by typing wir or go misconfig and start up and see if it is there and checked.

Better yet, learn some tricks on how to optimize vista performance:

>Start > Help and support > Performance and Maintenance. Here you have suggestions on disk cleaning, defrag (when was the last time you defragged?), trimming start up programs, freeing spaces, etc. It's lots of fun.

It's addicting. Make sure you do not OD

You could go to Control Panel - System and Maintainance - Performance Information and Tools and then click on Advanced Tools in the left column. Certain start up performance issues may list at the top of the screen you get.
