SidebySide Configuration (again)

Yesterday I received the Sidebyside Config error when launching ESET NOD32. Reinstalled the program (per ESET's advice), but to no avail. Uninstalled NOD32 and installed Security Essentials. No problem. Just went to launch Quicken and got the SidebySide Configuration error message again. After yesterday's venture I came to find that these problems are so involved that a complete Vista reinstall may be the only hope. Before doing that, a couple of things:
1. Is this a system problem that will soon affect every .exe?
2. Is there a fix, because I have read attempts that all have proven futile?
I will try anything to try and fix it because I would prefer to keep Quicken on my system and I am skeptical that a reinstall will work.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've run it and the result states: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details ....."

Jumping the gun a little, but I can't use a Vista install CD to replace/fix corrupted missing files as my computer is an OEM from which I made Recovery Disks.

Unable to install Visual C++ packages and NET framework files as outlined by niemiro in his posts due to the following error:

Ran sxstrace and include the result as well as sfc details. View attachment sxstrace.txt
