hi,
I can't seem to open any microsoft 2010 file/shortcut/programme etc. The following 2 messages appear.
1.) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side cobfiguration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
Appears when i tried to open shortcuts on my desktop and toolbar (windows only)
2.) This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
Appears when i try to open excel and powerpoint in the Start menu
How do i sort this problem out?
Note: I have been away for 2 months, without the computer, so i cannot tell you when this problem began. I first tried to use word today (30th/Nov/2011). The computer has been on all the time, with the lid shut so it has been in sleep mode. Not sure if this makes a difference.
Also if you post any advice please be aware that i am very computer illiterate. I dont understand them and any relevant lingo unless basic. Please bare with me!!
Thanks,
Anastasia
