Shaken up

Hello everyone,

Today we went to pick up my dog as I always wanted one and my fiancee agreed to it and she is called Angel and is a white German Shepherd, absolutely gorgeous and I love her to bits, but on the way home we had a car crash!! no-one was killed or seriously hurt, but we are both very shaken up, only me and my fiancee and the pup in the car, not the girls thank god!!!

I do not remember much at all except the air bags going bang and seeing a load of smoke in the car from the airbags, I thought the car was going to blow up at first and just sat there not knowing what to do, my fiancee was not able to get out of her side as the door was jammed, but in the end she climbed over to the back where I was with the pup and got out that way.

All the village people came out and were amazing, they brought tea and took us in until the police and paramedics came to check us all over.

She broke down saying that she promised my Mum she would look after me and said my Mum would hate her, but that is far far far from the truth, and my Mum is even sending us £1000 towards a decent car as the insurance is paying her £1,253 I think so we hope to be back on the road soon, but I am I must say very scared at the prospect and so is she, but she said the longer she leaves it the worse it will be.

I broke down in tears as I thought she was dead, it was on the whole a terrible experience and we never want to go through that again!!!

That's terrible news Chris, at least no one was seriously hurt so here's sending you both my best wishes and hope you can both make a swift recovery from the trauma.

Many thanks to all of you for your very kind words, my partner drove a little way today in her eldest daughters car and felt ok but a little dodgy when a car appeared to be heading straight towards us but pulled in to let us go.

Apart from that she was fine, wish I could say the same for me as I was shaking and feeling very bad, but said nothing to anyone as I did'nt want to upset my fiancee.

When we get some decent pics of the pup I will put them up for you to see her, she is delightful and gorgeous, my having to be told what to do to train her is not so easy, and I have to rely on my fiancee to help me, as the pup needs to recognise me as its owner, but its only every now and then that she responds to me calling her, and I can't help but feel down about it. I have never owned my own dog before and its hard for me to see how it all works, and having the two girls and my fiancee making a fuss of her, makes me feel out of it a bit, so I am a bit of a jelly belly sadly and I am not proud of it as she needs to socialise with others.

Again thank you to all of you for your words and wishes, I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you here a very Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year too :D

glad your both OK, i love the ''Human condition'', for all man's faults when ppl are injured its amazing to see how many strangers will jump in, often putting their own lives at risk.

Long time no speak, hope you are well, yes I agree, and its a shame that other than when something like that happens, there is usually so much trouble going around and people falling out etc........but I find that in the small villages people are just far more welcoming than in Towns and Cities........I just wish people were like that all the time and no bother going on, still in an ideal world that would be the case, but not in this one sadly.

But those people were truly amazing and a few days ago the Vicar that was at the crash site, came to see us with a message from the couple we hit to say, that they were worried about us, and that there was no animosity towards us, it really was most sweet of them and we both feel the same way.

I had my 1st crash 28th December 2004 @ 5am in the middle of nowhere on black ice was very scary to0 since i hit a drystone wall which demolished and just behind was a wire fence that catapulted me up into the air and flipped me..... everyone said dont use that road again ect you'll be scared..... but i drove it regular and got over any fears of that road.... its just lake falling off a bike, you need to get straght back on and youll be fine

Glad every one was ok and the pup hehe

Jeez!! that is very scary, but credit to you for getting back into driving, alot might simply have just given up, but well done, my fiancee wants to get back to it and I agree totally with you, but money is tight and although we have seen a car for £3,000 we only have £2,700 roughly, so a bit of batering is needed, but my fiancee is good and knows alot about cars so hopefully she can knock him down and maybe as a goodwill jesture as its Christmas he might let it go for £2,500 as my fiancee is starting off at that figure.

Its a Vauxhall Corsa and looks very nice, but we need to see it up close and check it out properly

Vauxhall corsa's are very nice cars, i sold 1 not so long ago 55 plate sxi sold it for £3,500 with 21,000 miles on the clock was worth lot more but i neded a fast sale make sure if you do get one it has air con or its hard to shift.... ill send you a pm with some good garages to check out.... will give you a good idea of current prices that arnt bumped up
