Hello,
I want to set up a static ip for one computer on my LAN (as I do for my printer). This is not for the Internet, but for my LAN only. The computer is a lap top on a wireless LinkSys network (I'm using a LinkSys router).
I want to do this so that I can set up a server for the LAN without having to worry about a continually changing ip address.
I'm using Windows Vista Home. Does anyone know how to do this?
When I follow the instructions here: (How assign a static IP address on Windows Vista), I can fix my ip address, but my Internet connection is lost! (although I don't supply a DNS. I keep that as dynamic).
Thanks for any feedback!
