Setting Up Services-Vista Ultimate

I would like to understand what services should be set to manual, automatic, and disabled purely from a security and resources point of view. In my case my PC is basically a stand alone PC with Wifi access to other PC's via the router itself.

Does anyone have info or a link that will enable me to better understand what my settings should be. I realise there are an awful lot of them but to be honest when I have tried to look at them and decipher what they are all about I am lost. Some are obvious others are not.

Should I set all to Manual for maximum security?
