selecting more than one item in windows vista

I know this might sound like a silly question, but I have not found the answer so I will try here.
Is there an easy way to select more than one item when trying to copy picture files to an email or website for sending over the internet? I remember I used to be able to select the first item and hold down the ctl or shift key select the end item and all the items inbetween would be highlighted for copy? Now, with windows vista, I have to click each one and sometimes it won't even let me do that, I have to do one at a time, depending on what I am doing. It is frustrating...

I read through this but it doesn't answer my question about multiple selections? I can check them now and select more than one folder but inside the folder when I am trying to copy more than one item for a website to send it only lets me do one at a time? I can only highlight one? Does that make any sense...

It may be a limit that the website set. Some will let you send multiple items while others one at a time. You might contact the website to see if there is a way for you to do so.

Thank you! I think you are right....I was going crazy trying to figure it all out, and I do think that because I don't want to download their software, it won't let me select more than one at a time...I don't want all that stuff on my computer so when I go into the websites I just say no to their activex downloads and just do one at a time...
I use kodak and walgreens mostly...

Your welcome Addiesanti. I do not blame you. I don't like using all those download manager programs either. To much of a chance for adware to be installed on the computer.

Ya, I am learning! Now, I wish my teenage son would listen to me. He blew up my older machine which had windows ME. I ran that thing for 7 years, yes!!! It worked great for me until he decided that he needed limewire, UGH...So, I fixed it several times until the OS was just so full of holes and problems, we had to get this machine! I did end up fixing it after I took it off of the internet, and it is a machine that is XP ready. So, my goal is to upgrade it and get a wireless router. I tried telling him that just because we have vista doesn't mean you can think the OS will stop anything dead in its tracks! Actually, vista makes me more nervous....I had nothing but problems with this machine since nov! It has been restored several times and also needed a clean OS put on from a disk that HP sent me because something went wrong when we tried to use the partition for an install! I tell ya, I wonder what will happen when windows 7 comes out?
