Second monitor

I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit, on an HP Pavilion computer.

What do I need to do to add a second monitor to this computer so I can view two different program screens at once?

Hello Jess, and welcome to Vista Forums.

What model number is your computer and your system specs? This way we can lookup if your system is capable.


For now:
If you have two video outputs on the back of your computer, then you can just simple connect a second monitor to the second video output to have two monitors running.

If you do not have two video outputs on the back of your computer, then you will need to purchase and install a graphics card that does.

My computer is an HP model a6600z, AMD dual core 4450e, 2.3 ghz processor, 2 g ram.

There is only one video card connector on the back. The video card is Nvidia.

Jess,

Since you only have one video connector on the back of the computer, you will only be able to use one monitor unless you purchase a separate PCI Express x16 graphics card that has two video connections instead to install in your computer.
