Screensaver Help!

Less than a week ago I rebuilt this computer making it Vista Ultimate 64 capable with a DFI Lanparty UT P35-T2R mobo, Intel core 2 quad 2.66 GhZ, nVidea 8800 GTS, Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Fatality soundcard, Raid 0 with two 500 Gig hard drives, and eight gig RAM. Most programs work without a flaw, including the preloaded screensavers that came with the Vista install disk. I have a number of screensavers from 3rd party vendors that will run when the icon is clicked, but don't show in the Windows screensaver manager. The strange thing is after I install the programs, a windows screensaver manager appears showing all screensavers. None of the purchased screensavers start automatically, and when I close the phantom screensaver manager only the windows manager showing preloaded screensavers will open and it seems to automatically turn off the screensaver feature. The preloaded screensavers are the only ones that will start automatically. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Yer, 3rd party screeners usually get loaded into the SYSWOW64 folder. You need to locate the .scrn file and copy it to System32. Itll then show up in the Screensaver Manager.

You're correct about the program location coolchris, and I didn't know what to do about it. Thanks for the reply, however I found an easy solution that could be a safeguard in Vista 64. After downloading each of the screensavers and then installing directly from the web, the Windows screensaver manager only displayed the preloaded screensavers. Right-clicking on each program showed two items in the context menu not seen in other programs. At the top is "TEST", and somewhere in the middle is "INSTALL". I'd missed them before. Since I'd made a complete back-up of my system to an external hard drive, I felt slightly adventurous last night. Right-clicking on the already installed program, and then clicking on Install in the context did the trick. I'd lay odds other programs will be affected by this forced-stop. Again I'd like ti sincerely think you for taking the time to respond coolchris.
