is there a way to input s-video in media center? like from a x-box? or do you have to have a cable box?

its not on my video card its a separate tv tuner it one s-video in and two audio in
and two coax but i ahvn't been able to get the s-video to work with media center

On my tuner I have my S-video in use and its working but I'm using it as an output to my TV. I don't know if it is intended for imput but it might be. If that connection can be used for input check your settings. You may already know this but just in case you didn't S-video only carries the video signal (no sound) you will need to use audio cables too. GOOD LUCK

i can input but only in windows xp and i have tried all the settings i can think of i have used auto config the manual config i have played with almost all of the settings i can think of taht would have any effect so i was hoping for somethin else to try....

What is the make and model of your tv tuner card? It sounds, seeing as though you can input with XP, that it is a driver issue. Either that, or the function is not currently available in the Vista driver. You could also try the manufacturer's forums for the card, but without the necessary information I am unable to supply you with any links (if they exist).

It is a AVerMedia MCE 1500 which has be discontinued..... but i have all the drivers for vista my problem is i'm trying to input a X-Box with S-Video but using the config it says i have to have a ir recever which i don't have
