Run program in XP

I installed my Sims 1 game and everything that should be at the bottom of the screen is in the middle. Evidently it isn't compatible with
Vista... or is there a way I can make it compatible. I already clicked on properties and picked run as XP and I already click to run as administrator. Nothing works.

Hi Barbee,
Have you tried to change your resolution to 800x600 or 1024X768 then run the game and see if that helps?
To change the resolution go to Control Panel > Personalize > Display settings.

I just tried it and no... it didn't work. :( Very sad because I love this game. It's strange because I was playing with the first 4 expansions and they ran fine, I added the last two Unleashed and Superstar and ran into this problem. I've written to EA but they are all about Sims 2 now and don't do much tech work on the older Sims 1.

There is no way to make it compatible, The only option is Sims 2, and I'd wait because there releasing sims 3 soon.
