This is not true at all, I consider this to be speculation, the reason cross platform never took off is because pc gamers aren't social enough, the main way that people communicate on xbox live is via the live lounge(a lobby of upto 8 gamers) and talk via headset, us pc players prefer to be in a room of many more and chat via keyboard, as you all know, xbox's keyboarding skills are mediocre at best...

On a serious note, there was one game that was true cross platform which could be challenged by mouse and keyboard, this game was lost planet colonies, I urge people to get this game as it's still very much an active community.

I agree with you regarding the communication aspects of cross-platform gaming.

However, I have to think PC users have an advantage on shooter games, such as Halo or Call of Duty. PC gamers do have the option to talk via headset, on some games, such Call of Duty, using programs such as TeamSpeak or Ventrillo.

Lost Planet Colonies? I will check that out. ;)

It's a beautiful game, i'm sure it was the first game to take advantage of DirectX 10.1 as well, you can use your mic with it but I dont use it half the time lol
