Rollback installations

I installed Visual Studio 2008 over the weekend to play with it and see if I could try my hand at some windows mobile development.. Today I go back to work and find that Sony Vegas doesn't work and several of my programs' software licensing has been broken.. I uninstall Visual Studio, but the programs still don't work. Is there a way I can roll back to before I ever installed VS in the first place?

System Restore sounds like just what I need..

However, the list of System Restore points goes back to ONE option AFTER I installed Visual Studio (WM6.1 SDK).. How can I go back just one more install to the Visual Studio install? Do I have to system restore to one point, then I can go back to a point before then?

Thanks

A restore point is usually created Before the app. is installed.

If it says Installed Visual Studio (WM6.1 SDK), selecting that will take you to a point just before the installation.

If it says Uninstalled VS , then that will take you back to before it was uninstalled - which you don't want.

You might try ticking the box at the bottom that says show points older than 5 days.

If you don't have a point earlier than that, you're out of luck.

You may need to uninstall and reinstall those broken apps.

You could try a longshot:

restore back to when VS was installed, then uninstall VS using the advanced mode of the free www.revouninstaller.com

This will remove everything to do with it - more efficient than VS own uninstall module.

You might find that helps.
