Retrieving histories

I've been searching the forums for my parents and can't seem to find the answer to my question for the internet histories.

Here's the story: My mother is the town librarian in the town I grew up in. There is no IT dept (other than my parents calling me with questions). Recently they've had a customer browsing porn on the library computer in the corner of the room. They took the situation to the board and the board told the guy he was banned from using the computers. Now the guy is saying he didn't browse any porn, what he was looking at is not porn, and is threatening a lawsuit.

Here's the question: Is it possible in Vista to retrieve the deleted IE history so they have a record of the sites that computer has visited?

The guy changed the settings in Internet Options to delete the history after 1 day so he wouldn't get busted.

Per this article some editions of Vista have System Image. You have to go back to an earlier image. Everything changes...everything
I will continue to search for a more practical solution

I doubt they have done any type of system image backup though. My father is pretty handy with computers but not to that degree. I'll have to call them and find out.

If he used an in private session, and cleared the session, I don't think they'd find anything.

Its a simple click and gone action.

The only trace may be in temp files, but that'll be wishy washy.
