Hi. I don't really know where els to put this so sorry in advance if its in the wrong place.

I'm having some problems with my screen colour and resolution atm. Tryed system restore , updating drivers and generaly looking on google for answers but most are unclear at best.

Imageshack - myscreen

Imageshack - devices

These are 2 SS. 1st is what my screen looks like.Although I must say it looks alot worse on my acctual screen. Second Is what I figure the problem is due to them simply not working.

NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS < Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Thats what it says when double clicked on so.. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there. Its the Nvidia driver w ith the yellow triangle on it. It isn't installed correctly. You need to go to nvidea and get the driver for your card and 32bit or 64. re-install and check in device manager too make sure the triangle is gone and reboot

that should work

Let us know if it doesn't

There seems to be more to it than just the display driver (although I admit that this needs fixing). Judging by the number of yellow triangles it looks as though you have other issues as well. Have you installed the chipset drivers for your motherboard, and what make and model number is your m/b so that we can give you more advice?

As for the graphics driver, you can find details on the latest driver here NVIDIA DRIVERS 190.62 WHQL

Thanks for the replys guys. Its the fact that it happened so randomly I really wasn't sure what the problem was.

Not quite sure if this is what ur looking for. ITs about 2 and a half years old. Or round about.

Edit: D/l that driver didnt seem to help. It seems to be set at default resolution and colour from which I can choose between 800 by 600 , 16 colors , default refresh and anything other than that it goes back to what you see in the screenshot. With this setting the icons are at a better size but its just a lesser version of what you see in the SS.

Your video driver was stopped. thats why you have screen problems. you need to go to nvidea and download the driver for the 8300. Make sure if its 32 bit or 64.

Good luck

Uninstall the driver from device manager, reboot into safe mode, run driver cleaner from guru 3d, then reboot again into safe mode and install the newest driver, wheter 32-bit or 64-bit. Then reboot back into windows. Use msinfo32 or Belarc advisor to profile your hardware and update anything else that is outdated.

This is actually a Virus, funny enough it only attack dell pc's. We have few of them at work, all with nvidia graphics, all on xp and all behave same. I found temporary solution but it stoped working from today so I'm looking for something better. What you need to fix it temporarly is s7disinf.reg from fsecure if u google it will come up as first result. If I find solution I'll post it.

Ok, so the think we are dealing with here is downadup.

To clean your pc you need:

One of the files from Ms bulletin MS08-067 (download one for your system)
Downadup removal tool from symantec (google it)

1. download both files
2. disconnect pc from network
3. run file from ms
4. scan with removal tool
5. reboot pc

You should be clean, just in case make sure your auto. updates are turned on and all applied.

enjoy
