Removing Notepad association

I recently installed Microsoft office 2007 but I inadvertently associated the DOCX file with notepad, and now the icon shows the Microsoft word icon but on a white file. The file opens fine with Word and the problem is purely aesthetic but is there anyway to remove the association with word and revert the icon back to the normal Word file image?

click on control panel.
Click on Default programs
Click on Set Associations
Click on .docx and choose word.

I have already tried to set the word association that way but still the icon doesn't revert back to the normal word docx icon and notepad is still associated with the docx format. I've also tried to remove the association to notepad through regedit but the problem still persists.

Hello Crux, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might also see if reinstalling Office can reassociate the .docx file back to MS Word for you.
