Removing Fonts

I recently had a Japanese visitor.

It appears she has installed some Japanese fonts and/or possibly a Language Pack.

Either way, I have dozens of fonts that look the same when it defualts to regular (english) fonts when it is displayed.

I have followed the handy Tutorial to remove fonts but for some reason Vista won't allow me. Telling me I cannot remove the fonts.

I'm probably doing something wrong with what I thought would be something so easy to do.

Thanks Brink for that suggestion... since I don't get the option to Uninstall added language packs or Keyboard maps I suspect it's special fonts that were installed.

However...with this new information I've learnt today I can help someone else so thanks again:)

Edit...Now I'm at my PC attempting to do this again and noticed that the fonts folder is Read-only. Trying to change it and deleting fonts but "you don't have permission" promt comes up and the folder is re-set to read only.

So now I have something further to investigate

Further info:

Some fonts I can delete...others (the ones I want to remove) I get this:

"Destination Folder Acess Denied....You need permission to perform this action" you can only click 'RETRY.' or 'CANCEL'....of course 'RETRY' just repeats the error window and 'CANCEL' removes the file that you have dropped into the destination folder.

Which is odd...

Further info:

Looking into changing permissions there is an entry in some of these difficult Fonts called "trusted installer" Not sure where that came from. But the trusted installer is the only "user than can delete them.

The Asian fonts come from Dynacomware limited so checking their websites for uninstallers
