Remove/add programs from autoplay?

Hi. I want to remove some programs from the autoplay menu but don't want to uninstall, for example Nero but just remove Nero's photoscap viewer from the menu when I insert an SD card to upload images. I'd rather Nikon's ViewNX were on the menu but it isn't. Any ideas how to get it there? Windows Vista help only tells me how to change autoplay defaults, not how to list or unlist on the autofault menu.

Hi pxfragonard, and welcome to Vista Forums.
I believe the solutions to your autoplay menu can be found in one of our tutorials.

I hope this helps. Please post back and let us know the outcome.:)

Thanks dreemwarrior. I took a look. There's nothing there about adding a program though, which is more important to me than taking one away. Thanks for the link on removing. I tried posting "what if I want to add a program to autoplay?" but I wasn't allowed to... the thread's been closed due to inactivity.

I wonder why Nikon's ViewNX doesn't attach itself to autoplay when it's installed. I'll bet it's a Nikon problem. Their software is quite frustrating.

Yes, you would think it would attach like any other software would. Have you checked compatibility with Vista? That could be your dilemma.

apparently it's not listed independently of Capture NX, the program Nikon sells to open its Nikon Encrypted Files. The Viewer probably isn't thought out properly.

funny quote on the bottom of your post. cheers...

It's not a biggie though... I can just open ViewNX independently and open the folder.... so don't worry about it... thanks again, dreeemweaver.
