I recently just got this error again. I had it a few months back but after a few restarts it never came up again.

I can't boot into safe mode as my keyboard won't work until the login screen (I've always had this problem, no idea why)

I can't do a system restore because I can't get far enough after the loading from the login screen before the BSOD comes.

I really need my files and photos off my computer before I re-install vista. Is there any way to save these? It's very important.

The better way is to burn quickly liveCD on linux for example Damn Small Linux, Download the ISO
+ pendrive.Of course you need any other computer to download and burn *.iso file
